Bamboo Cottages is a Vietnamese family-run, boutique bed and breakfast, located on a secluded stretch of private beach in Vung Bau Bay on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. Come have a taste of the original Phu Quoc before the mega-developments arrived (it still exists…for now…)
We are an environmentally friendly, positive-impact, 18-room Vietnamese family-run getaway. Our kitchen serves only healthy authentic homemade Vietnamese dishes, including many vegan options, all made with the freshest, cleanest ingredients & our immense pride. All rooms are housed in spacious cottages, literally steps away from the beach. We provide the kayaks and Nature’s wisdom is provided by the landscape that surrounds you.
Our Mission
We know that vacation time is precious and is meant to nourish. To that end, we aspire to combine the natural beauty of Vung Bau with thoughtful service, simple tastefulness, healthy food (with a passion for offering plant-based versions of classic Vietnamese dishes), and a relaxed, authentic Vietnamese experience.
Our vision is to invest in and be in harmony with everything that we value: the traveler’s experience of Vietnam, our staff, the environment and the community. Bamboo Cottages is a home. We welcome you to come be part of our family for a little while.
Our Rooms
All of our rooms are literally steps away from the beach. They all have unique en-suite open-air bathrooms, mosquito nets, safe boxes, hot water, and hi-speed WiFi. The cottages have A/C, the wooden houses are cooled by fan, intelligent ventilation and breezes, in keeping with the spirit of taking full pleasure in the abundance of nature and serenity. All rooms come with two glass bottles and our guests have access to free unlimited filtered spring water to refill them with. No matter what room you stay in, you can be sure to hear the waves lapping, all the livelong day.
Our Space
We evolved Bamboo Cottages over time. As needs and resources changed, we ebbed and flowed with them. This is a home more than a hotel. Our family has lived on and off here since 2005, and most of our staff live here or very close by. We only have 18 rooms, and there are no other hotels adjacent to our stretch of beach. We invite you to come and be part of our little island family for awhile.

We are located on the northwest side of the island, in a sweet secluded bay called Vung Bau. We’re about 45 mins from the airport, 30 mins from Duong Dong town, 10 mins from GrandWorld (and also a universe away from GrandWorld), and a 15 minute kayak to Fingernail Island. There are 4 other Vietnamese owned small hotels within walking distance, though not much else.
